On Thursday 27th October 2022, Ajib YG3DEB, a radio amateur from East Java, reached the summit of Gunung Pangrango and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 15 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 15 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Gunung Pangrango is 3019 metres (9905 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
