On Saturday 15th July 2023, Markus OE/HB9DIZ/P, a radio amateur from Switzerland reached the summit of Hinterer Heuberg and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 16 contacts in total working on the 40m amateur radio band.
