On Friday 22nd July 2022 Henry OE/IW3AGO/P a radio amateur from Italy reached the summit of Schartlkopf and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 51 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40, 20 and 15 metre HF amateur radio bands.
