On Tuesday 8th November 2022, Matt 5B/SQ9NIS/P, a radio amateur from Poland reached the summit of Χιονίστρα (Chionistra) and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 50 contacts in total working on the 40, 20 and 15 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Χιονίστρα (Chionistra) is 1950 metres (6398 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
