On Saturday 7th October 2023, JS2KEA/2, a radio amateur from Japan, reached the summit of Kaoredake and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 13 contacts in total working on the 70cm amateur radio band.
The summit of Kaoredake is 1626 metres (5335 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
The summit of Kaoredake is in the Gifu Prefecture on Honshu Island.
