On Tuesday 21st March 2023, Masanori J02BWZ/2, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Nigorigoyama and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 58 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40, 30, 20 and 15 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Nigorigoyama is 1634 metres (5361 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
Nigorigoyama is in the Gifu Prefecture on Honshu Island.
