On Sunday 31st July 2022 JH1EWV/1 a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Kurokawakeikanzan and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 14 contacts in total working on the 2 metre, 70 cm and 23 cm amateur radio bands.
The summit of Kurokawakeikanzan is 1716 metres (5630 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
