On Saturday 22nd October 2022, JI1AVM/1, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Kurakakeyama and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
They made 47 contacts in total working on the 70cm and the 2 and 6 metre amateur radio bands.
The summit of Kurakakeyama is 1777 metres (5830 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
Kurakakeyama is in Yamanashi Prefecture on Honshu Island.
