Nuclear power plant never used. Building started in the 1970s but after serious demonstrations which gathered 40000 people the plant was never commissioned although it was finished in 1985. It was finally killed by the German government in 1991. In 1995 a businessman bought the site and turned it into "Kernwasser Wunderland" (Nuclear Water Wonderland) amusement park.
