On Sunday 1st October 2023, Richard OE5FFE/P, a radio amateur from Austria, reached the summit of Lärchwand and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 11 contacts in total working on the 2m amateur radio band.
The summit of Lärchwand is 2388 metres (7835 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
