On Saturday 13th August 2022, Frank EI8HIB/P and Dom EI5IAB two radio amateurs from County Dublin reached the summit of Lugnaquilla and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
They made 16 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF amateur radio band.
The summit Lugnaquilla is 925 metres (3035 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
