On Saturday 29th July 2023, Kiyotka JJ1PIG/0, a radio amateur from Japan, reached the summit of Makihatayama and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 11 contacts in total working on the 70cm and 40m amateur radio bands.
The summit of Makihatayama is 1967 metres (6453 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
The summit of Makihatayama is in the Gunma Prefecture on Honshu Island.
