On Friday 26th August 2022, Ron NR3E and Leo NE2P two radio amateurs from Tennessee reached the summit of Middle Knob and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
They made 28 contacts in total working on the 60, 40. 30, 20 and 17 mere HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Middle Knob is 1283 metres (4209 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
