On Friday 26th April 2024, Brandon ZS6LZ a radio amateur from South Africa reached the summit of Moorddraai and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 29 contacts in total working on the 40m, 30m and 10m amateur radio bands.

The summit of Moorddraai is 2032 metres (6667 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
