On Wednesday 3rd April 2024, Brandon ZL4NVW/P, a radio amateur from South Island, New Zealand reached the summit of Mount Cold and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 7 contacts in total working on the 40m amateur radio band.
The summit of Mount Cold is 2348 metres (7703 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
