On Saturday 16th July 2022 Stuart VK7FADZ a radio amateur from southern Tasmania reached the summit of Mount Field East and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 13 contacts in total working on the 40 metre HF amateur radio band.
The summit of Mount Field East is 1274 metres (4180 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
