On Saturday 1st July 2023, Stuart VK7FADZ, a radio amateur from the state of Tasmania reached the summit of Mount Muelller and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 16 contacts in total working on the 40m amateur radio band.

The summit of Mount Mueller is 1245 metres (4085 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
