On Tuesday 5th December 2023, Stuart VK7FADZ, a radio amateur from the state of Tasmania, reached the summit of Nevada Peak and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 7 contacts in total working on the 40m amateur radio band.
