On Saturday 22nd July 2023, Tim N7KOM, a radio amateur from Bend, OR reached the summit of Mount Thielsen and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 31 contacts in total working on the 2m and 20m amateur radio bands.
The summit of Mount Thielsen is 2799 metres (9183 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
