On Monday 29th August 2022, Mihai YO9RAO/P and Florin YO9IPF/P, two radio amateurs from Romania reached the summit of Negoiu and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 12 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF amateur radio band.

The summit of Negoiu is 2536 metres (8320 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
