On Friday 26th August 2022, Mihaela YO5MCM/P and Ioan YO6IA/P two radio amateurs from Romania reached the summit of Moldoveanu and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 35 contacts in total working on the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Moldoveanu is 2545 metres (8350 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
