On Tuesday 26th December 2023, Philipp OE9NAT/P, a radio amateur from Austria, reached the summit of Omesspitze and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 7 contacts in total working on the 2m amateur radio band.
The summit of Omesspitze is 2589 metres (8494 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
