On Saturday 1st October 2022, JF1GZZ/1 and JA1CTC/P, two radio amateurs from Japan reached the summit of Ootouge and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
They made 30 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Ootouge is 1908 metres (6260 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
Ootouge is in Yamanashi Prefecture on Honshu Island.
