On Thursday 12th October 2023, Alberto EA3GNU/P, a radio amateur from Spain, reached the summit of Pic de Bassiero and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 59 contacts in total working on the 40m, 20m and 15m amateur radio bands.
The summit of Pic de Bassiero is 2902 metres (9521 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
