On Friday 18th August 2023, Gavin EA2/G0GAV/P, a radio amateur from Scotland, reached the summit of Pico de I'Orbar and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 38 contacts in total working on the 30m and 20m amateur radio bands.

The summit of Pico de I'Orbar is 2421 metres (7943 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
