On Saturday 9th September 2023, Mihaela YO5MCM/P & Ioan YO5IA/P, a couple of radio amateurs from Romania, reached the summit of Pietrosu Călimani and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
They made 48 contacts in total working on the 40m, 20m and 15m amateur radio bands.
The summit of Pietrosu Călimani is 2100 metres (6890 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
