On Sunday 1st October 2023, Ioan YO5IA/P & Mihaela YO5MCM/P, a couple of radio amateurs from Romania, reached the summit of Retițiș and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
They made 54 contacts in total working on the 40m, 20m and 15m amateur radio bands.
The summit of Retițiș is 2021 metres (6631 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
