On Tuesday 16th August 2022, Manuel HB9DQM/P and HB9GIN/P Christian two radio amateur from Switzerland reached the summit of Piz Mitgel and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
They made 76 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Piz Mitgel is 3159 metres (10364 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
