On Saturday 30th March 2024 at 09:14 UTC, David OK4KOP, a radio amateur from the Czech Republic, made contact with Zdeno OK1DOY/P, a radio amateur from the Czech Republic, who was operating from PR Vapenka (OKFF-1074), on the 40m amateur radio band. Zdeno made a total of 124 contacts while at the reserve.
PR Vapenka (OKFF-1074), is a protected area of 12 hectares lying to the north of Prague in the north of the Czech Republic. It was designated in 1969 as a Nature Reserve and is an IUCN Management Category IV area.
An IUCN Management Category IV area is an area to protect particular species or habitats and are managed to prioritise this objective.
