On Sunday 6th August 2023, Mario IU1DOF/P, a radio amateur from Italy, reached the summit of Rocca dell'Abisso and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 28 contacts in total working on the 2m, 40m and 20m amateur radio bands.
The summit of Rocca dell'Abisso is 2755 metres (9039 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
