On Wedneday 13th March 2024 at 20:43 UTC, Don WB6BEE a radio amateur from Williamsburg, VA recorded on the GMA Dashboard (www.cqgma.org/ds2001.php) that Jim N9JF a group of radio amateurs from Liberty, IL was operating from Siloam Springs State Park (KFF-1023) on the 17m amateur radio band.
Siloam Springs State Park (KFF-1023) is located to the east of Quincy, IL in Adams County. The 3,323 acre park covers an area which includes wooded terrain and a sparkling lake.
The park provides visitors with the opportunity for bird watching, hiking. fishing, sailing. camping and picnicking. The forested gullies and crests which circle the park abound with native flora including snapdragons, black-eyed Susans and wild roses.
