On Thursday 29th June 2023, Martina OY/DF3TS/P &Thomas OY/DC8TM/P, a couple of radio amateurs from Germany reached the summit of Slættaratindur and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
They made 49 contacts in total working on the 20m amateur radio band.
The summit of Slættaratindur is 882 metres (2894 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
