On Sunday 10th July 2022 Todd KH2TJ a radio amateur from Portola, CA reached the summit of Steens Mountain and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 20 contacts in total working on the 40, 30 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Steens Mountain is 2967 metres (9734 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
