On Wednesday 20th March 2024 at 14:25 UTC, Ivo 9A1AA a radio amateur from Croatia made contact with Jurgen OE/DL7UJM/P a radio amateur from Germany who was operating from Steilhangmoor im Untertal (OEFF-0130) on the 40m amateur radio band.
Steilhangmoor im Untertal (OEFF-0130), is a protected area of 14 hectares of land. It was designated as a Special Area of Conservation (Habitats Directive) in 2006. The protected moor land is part of the Natura 2000 network.
Natura 2000 aims to protect many of Europe's most vulnerable and threatened habitats and species.
