On Sunday 28th August 2022, Nicholas KY4OP a radio amateur from Catlett, VA reached the summit of Stony Man and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 8 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF amateur radio band.
The summit of Stony Man is 1223 metres (4012 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
