The complex has facilities for all aquatic sports and includes a 10 lane 50 metre competition pool (with movable bulkheads for 25 metre short course), a 50 metre training pool and a 33 x 25 metre utility pool with facilities for water polo, diving and synchronised swimming. In addition to the children's leisure pools, it also has a spa, sauna and steam room, a state of the art gymnasium and cardio theatre.

The Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre was opened in 1994 and was the venue for the swimming, diving and synchronised swimming for the Sydney 2000 Games. Timing and scoreboard systems are commensurate with being one of the leading aquatic facilities in the world. The competition pool hall has a seating capacity for 7,700, which through its innovative roof design was increased to 17,500 for the 2000 Olympics.
