On Wednesday 27th March 2024 at 13:11 UTC, Francois ON4LO, a radio amateur from Belgium, made contact with Zoli HA5MIG/P, a radio amateur from Hungary, who was operating from Szigetkozi TK (HAFF-0042), on the 20m amateur radio band. Zoli made a total of 50 contacts while he was at the reserve.
Szigetkozi TK (HAFF-0042), is a protected area of 9,681 hectares lying to the south-east of Bratislava in the Danube River valley. It was designated in 1987 and is an IUCN Management Category V area.
An IUCN Management Category V area is a lived-in working landscape, where the interaction of people with the natural landscape has resulted in a landscape with significant biological, ecological and scenic value.
