On Monday 19th June 2023, Yuki JF1NDT/8, a radio amateur from Honshu Island, Japan reached the summit of Taisetsuzan (Asahidake) and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 22 contacts in total working on the 15m amateur radio band.
The summit of Taisetsuzan (Asahidake) is 2291 metres (7516 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
The summit of Taisetsuzan (Asahidake) is in the Kamikawa Subprefecture on Hokaido Island.
