On Tuesday 1st August 2023, Isam JHOWMN/8, a radio amateur from Japan, reached the summit of Tokachidake and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 20 contacts in total working on the 40m, 30m, 20m, 17m and 15m amateur radio bands.
The summit of Tokachidake is 2077 metres (6814 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
The summit of Tokachidake is in the Kamikawa Subprefecture on Hokaido Island.
