The Forty Foot is a promontory near the southern tip of Dublin Bay from which people have been swimming for some 250 years.

American comedian David Letterman visited and bathed in the Forty Foot during the documentary Bono & The Edge: A Sort of Homecoming, with Dave Letterman.
