Yeongtongsa Temple is a famous temple which is closely connected with Daegak Guksa (1055-1101), the founder of the Cheontae sect of Korean Buddhism.

It was destroyed by fire in the end of the 16th century, but restored by the Yeongtongsa Restoration Committee in October 2005.
