The dome here is the remains of the "Temple of Apollo" from the first century. It is the second largest dome built by the Romans after the Pantheon in Rome.
Please don't mix thumbnails and URLs. The thumbnail must come from the map you submit, not an image from some other source. In this case you submitted a Bing URL but a thumbnail that was not from any mapping service. I've fixed this one but if you submit more in the future please read the FAQ. Thanks.
These cars sparked a internet conspiracy a few years ago when it was claimed that these were UN vehicles pre positioned for a US takeover of the US government. In fact they were KIA imports that were stored here until they were absorbed by the Cash-For-Clunkers bailout.
They are concrete tetrapods, four-legged concrete structures used as armor units on breakwaters. The Tetrapod's shape is designed to dissipate the force of incoming waves and protect the breakwater from erosion.
Sorry, adrbr. As Tyco points out this should have been accepted since the Note states TV or Movie. I like your alternate better than this one thought. I hope you didn't blow too much time looking for the new one.
Aw crud. You're right, of course. Sorry about that. I should read my own rules, huh? My original intention was just movies but I messed up the Note. I'll restore your points and someone elses who i rejected early on.
They are a bit small for oxbows / meanders. And I'd expect to see them all around the area if they were. They seem local to this small patch though.
I think the story becomes clearer when you look in Bing. There has been a lot of earth moving in the area to deal with flooding and draining. See the area just to the NW. The plain just to the east has a few of the trenches and they look like they are the result of earth removal, probably to build the mounds and mini-dams in the...
Bouvet is the setting of the 2004 movie Alien vs. Predator, in which it is referred to using its Norwegian name "Bouvetøya" even though in the unrated edition of the film, a satellite focuses in on the island which is geographically situated in the approximate location of Peter I Island.
This is the island on which Michener based his fictional island Bali Ha'i in his book Tales of the South Pacific. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bali_hai
There is no game in progress. One or two people in the stands would be very unlikely. The parking lots in the area are all empty. This may be practice.
In a move that apparently surprised many islanders the Chief Minister of Norfolk Island David Buffett announced on November 6, 2010 that the island would voluntary surrender its self-governing status in return for a financial bailout from the federal government to cover significant debts.
Check out the imagery just to the north. It was taken at a very acute angle. Almost 45 degrees. You don't see much of that anymore in the GM imagery database.
The aircraft in old style GM is a C-17 but the plane in the 45 degree imagery is most definitely a C-5. No canards on wingtips.
I've updated the thumbnail to show it from further out. To see it you may need to enable the new Aerial feature in Google Maps by clicking on the little green "New" icon at the very top of the Google Maps page and then scrolling down to Aerial Imagery and select 'enable'.
The hall has a strong literary connection thanks to a visit to the house by the writer Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, most noted for his stories about the detective Sherlock Holmes. In 1901 Arthur Conan Doyle had returned from South Africa.... [and] stayed at the Royal Links Hotel in Cromer. During [his] stay, Doyle probably heard the Norfolk legend of 'Black Shuck', the Hell Hound of Norfolk. Also, the following description of Baskerville Hall in Doyle’s book can be matched to the exterior aspects...
Cool. I didn't know he was doing art on a large scale. He's my favorite novelist. He does great art on small scale but I'd never seen something like this.
I love the old aquamarine and white on this building. The color scheme is so out of favor now that it isn't easy to find existing examples anymore.
I'd love to do a coffee table book of all old buildings like this. I think there is a period of architecture around the late 50s and early 60s that is so under-appreciated. We're tearing them down as eyesores today and will treasures them as rarities tomorrow.

Welcome to VGT. Please work on cleaning up your thumbnails. They need to be 150x150 with no place marks, text or overlay marks. I'll fix this one but the next gets rejected.
A woman wielding a crowbar smashed a display case Wednesday at the Loveland Museum/Gallery, ripped out a piece of artwork that has been the center of growing controversy and shredded it into small pieces, witnesses said.

A link to the wiki would be fine. The first few posts are often rough until you figure out the local customs.

You've just said this was the location of lots of Bollywood films.
