1970 – The USS Parche (SS-384/AGSS-384), One of the most highly decorated ships of the famous World War II Pacific Submarine Force, is sold for scrap.

2005 – After a lengthy fund raising campaign, extensive interior remodeling, a slight change in name and a new focus on crafts and design, the Bellevue Arts Museum re-opened.
