Apamea is an ancient Roman city located in modern-day Syria. The ruined city is one of the most impressive Roman cities to remain. Its theatre is one of the biggest ever to be built in the Roman Empire and the city is also known to have one of the longest colonnades which ran for nearly 2 km, making it the longest and most famous one in the Roman Empire.

The city was founded c. 300 BC and was abandoned in the 13th century.
