Brent Burns (born March 9, 1985 in Barrie, Ontario) is a professional hockey player currently with the NHL's San Jose Sharks.
He was selected in the first round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft by the Minnesota Wild. He made his NHL debut with Minnesota in 2003. After seven seasons with the Wild, he was traded to San Jose in the summer of 2011. Throughout his career, he has been both a defenseman and a forward.
On November 29, 2013, he scored his first career hat trick. Upon returning home after the game, he found that fans in his neighborhood left several hats and a congratulatory banner in his driveway.
