While entire neighborhoods in New Orleans were flooded, this unfortunate one was swept away entirely.

It appears that the wreckage from those homes are strewn about the neighboring area. You can clearly see piles of debris a couple blocks from the levee breach.

This is the Ninth Ward in New Orleans. I visited there several months after Katrina and the destruction was much worse then. Looks like they cleared out some but not all of the displaced homes.
