Kirov plant (formerly Putilov)

The Putilov metallurgical plant was the biggest factory in Russia, if not the world, at the beginning of the 20th century, and a stronghold of the workers movement during the 1905 and 1917 revolutions. The Bolsheviks had it renamed "Krasniy Putilovets Zavod" ( Red workers of Putilov Plant ), then Kirov Plant, after the assassination of bolshevik leader Sergeï Kirov, in 1934. It still produces electric turbines and railway materials.
