Lewis and Clark Expedition- Independence Creek

The Lewis and Clark Expedition camped near the creek on July 4, 1804 thus naming it Independence Creek. The expedition had just set out from St. Louis on May 14 on the Missouri river and would end up at Fort Clatsop in Oregon in 1805.
