Among those buried in the cemetery is the flying ace Major James T. B. McCudden of the Royal Flying Corps, who died of wounds in July 1918 after he crashed in the nearby forest with his plane, a Royal Aircraft Factory S.E.5 just after take off from the nearby airfield. He had just arrived from home and his plane was serviced and an error in the service caused the crash.

He was buried in row B grave 10.
