Wellington's Column (StreetView)
Designed by George Anderson Lawson of Glasgow and built between 1861 and 1865, it stands 40m (132 ft) high. It was built to commemorate the victories of Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington who won many battles during the Napoleonic Wars.
